Alleged Bank Robbers Sought by Mt. Laurel Police

Both robbers got away after two Friday incidents, police said.

Mount Laurel Police are asking for the public's help in trying to identify two men involved in a pair of bank robberies Friday, including one that resulted in a car chase and manhunt in Cherry Hill.

An armed robber walked into Beneficial Bank on Route 38 at 5:51 p.m., pulled a handgun and demanded money from the bank's manager, police said, before taking off on what became a chase down Route 38.

Cherry Hill Police were called in to help when the robber crashed around the intersection of Route 38 and Mill Road on the Maple Shade-Cherry Hill border, according to emergency broadcast reports at the time, and tried to track him with K-9 units and a helicopter.

The robber was dressed head-to-toe in black, police said—he wore black track pants, a black hooded parka, a ski mask and gloves, and was shown on surveillance footage with a black bag to carry cash from the robbery.

The other robbery occurred earlier in the day at PNC Bank on Ark Road, police said.

There, police said a black man in a gray sweatshirt, white baseball cap and large, white-rimmed sunglasses walked into the bank at 12:29 p.m. and passed a teller a note implying he had a gun and demanding cash.

Police didn't release how much cash either robber was able to take in either incident.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the Mount Laurel Police tip line at 856-234-1414 x1599.
