Utility crews have been called in, but drivers should avoid the area.
Haddonfield-Berlin Road was partially shut down around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, after a tree crashed down on wires near Downs Farm Swim Club. The road was essentially closed between Burnt Mill and Evesham Roads, Cherry Hill Police said, though one lane of traffic was still squeezing by on the eastbound side. PSE&G crews had been called in to handle the tree and wires, but police said drivers should avoid the area if at all possible and seek alternate routes. There was no timeline yet for the road reopening.

Two Camden men who were carrying loaded, concealed handguns were arrested in the city’s Cramer Hill neighborhood early Wednesday morning, Camden County Police said. Robert Lindsey, 23, and Bruce Black Jr., 28, were carrying the weapons when they were stopped near the intersection of 27th Street and Sherman Avenue just after 2 a.m. for driving with their taillights out, police said. The driver of the car, Deiry Brito, 28, also of Camden, wasn’t carrying a weapon, but was arrested on outstanding warrants against him, police said. An 18-year-old Cherry Hill East senior who was injured when her Honda Civic collided with a gravel truck Monday remains in serious condition. Benaiah Hand, who was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden following the 2 p.m. crash on Kresson Road in front of the high school, has been moved out of the trauma unit, but is still under observation, Cherry Hill Police said. Hand was pulling on to Kresson Road near the Cooper Run Drive intersection, the exit to the school that isn't controlled by a traffic signal, when the crash occurred, police said. A man who authorities said fought with a homeowner after committing a burglary was arrested without incident Monday, Cherry Hill Police announced. Jon D. Padula, 22, of the unit block of Willis Avenue in Pennsauken, was caught in Lindenwold, less than a week after he allegedly burglarized a home in Cherry Hill's Colwick neighborhood. Padula, who has spent time in state prison on drug and burglary convictions, was leaving the home in the unit block of St. Davids Road when the homeowner confronted him, police said, leading to the fight, during which Padula allegedly threatened to stab the homeowner with a screwdriver. A Cherry Hill East student is hospitalized with head trauma after the teen’s car collided with a tractor-trailer loaded with gravel Monday afternoon. The accident shut down Kresson Road for hours as police cleared the scene of debris and launched an investigation. The student, operating a Honda Civic, was leaving the school at 2 p.m. and made a left-hand turn onto Kresson Road from the parking lot near Cooper Run Drive, Cherry Hill Police said. The tractor-trailer was traveling on Kresson Road and unable to stop in time as the student turned onto the road.
