Cherry Hill Fireworks, Concert Set for July 3

A concert and fireworks show will light up the night at Cherry Hill West's football stadium.

Independence Day comes a day early in Cherry Hill this year, with fireworks and a concert at Cherry Hill West’s Jonas Morris Stadium on July 3.

The free festivities kick off at 7 p.m. with the first set of two in a performance by No Commitment, and fireworks are scheduled to go off starting about 9 p.m.

Refreshments will be available at the field, and proceeds will benefit Cherry Hill West. Any bags, coolers or backpacks are subject to search at the gate, and alcohol and glass containers are banned, along with smoking inside the stadium area.

Stadium gates will open at 7 p.m. and close at 8:45, and there are parking restrictions in place in the neighborhood around the stadium and Cherry Hill West.

Limited handicap parking will be available at the stadium lot at the corner of Fulton Street and Martin Avenue. Three other lots, including the main stadium lot between Graham and Weld avenues, will be open for parking, but on-street parking will be restricted.

All of Warren, Weld and and Marlboro avenues will be closed to parking. Parking bans will also be in place on Martin Avenue between Murray Avenue and the dead end, on Fulton Street between Martin and Weld avenues, on Graham Avenue between Fulton Street and Warren Avenue, and on West’s driveway off Murray Avenue.

Parking will be available on one side of the street on Martin Avenue between Murray Avenue and Mercer Street, on Murray Avenue between Martin and Graham Avenues, on Graham Avenue between Fulton and Dover streets, and on Fulton Street between Weld and Severn Avenues.

Improperly parked cars will be towed from the area, township officials said.

A rain date has been set for July 5.
