In the first of two must-win games Tuesday, Cherry Hill got a standout pitching performance from Ian Scheidermann to beat the Washington Township Patriots in the elimination-bracket finals of the state Junior American Legion tournament.

Scheidemann struck out six and allowed just one run as Cherry Hill advanced with the 3-1 victory.
