Traffic Pattern Shift on Woodcrest Bridge Ahead of Refurbishment

Traffic will be shifted to the center of the bridge and the speed limit will be reduced to 25 miles an hour.

The Camden County Department of Public Works will temporarily alter the traffic pattern on the Woodcrest Bridge over PATCO and NJ Transit rail lines in advance of its refurbishment.

The Woodcrest Road Bridge in Cherry Hill and will have a traffic control plan implemented this week.

A recent bridge inspection and recommendation from engineers of the project area in October of 2013 have determined that the span is in need of structural upgrades.

“The traffic control plan will shift vehicles toward the center of the bridges in order to reduce the load off of certain bridge beams until the repairs can be implemented,” Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said. “These repairs are part of a long-term infrastructure improvement program.”
