Sheila Polanski pleaded guilty in the death of a Gloucester City two-year-old in 2011.

A Westville woman pleaded guilty to causing the death of a Gloucester City two-year-old she was babysitting in 2011, Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk announced on Thursday.

Sheila Polanski, 36, pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in the death of Madeline McHenry.

The recommended sentence is 12 years incarceration in a state prison, 85 percent of which must be served before she is eligible for parole.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 2.

Polanski admitted in court to shaking McHenry and slamming her on the floor on July 5, 2011. She further admitted she delayed seeking medical treatment for McHenry once she became unresponsive.

McHenry was taken to the hospital and died on July 7, 2011.
