Fugitive Maurice Bodie, 30, surrendered to Sheriff's Officers after a brief standoff at the Feather Nest Inn in Cherry Hill on Monday.

Officers located Bodie, who is wanted in Union County for unlawful possession of weapons and resisting arrest, at 8:45 a.m.

The armed fugitive barricaded himself and another in his motel room. Officers quickly negotiated with Bodie to surrender.  Both surrendered without incident.

“This multi-pronged effort by several units of the Sheriff’s Department and the Cherry Hill Police Department got a guy off the street that was wanted in other jurisdictions for serious crimes,” said Camden County Sheriff Charles H. Billingham in a press release. “This was a true team effort and everyone executed their tasks flawlessly getting the suspect into custody in a timely manner and without a hitch.”

Bodie was arrested and charged with an additional count of resisting arrest by the Sheriff's Department.  His bail was set for $75,000 cash.
