Timothy Canfield is accused of using a bow and arrow to kill another man following a fight Monday night.

A Berlin Borough man allegedly killed another man in an unusual way: by shooting him in the stomach with an arrow.

Timothy Canfield, 25, of the first block of North Brill Avenue in Berlin, Camden County is charged with murder in connection with the slaying of Kereti Paulsen, 25, of Cape May Court House.

Paulsen got into a fistfight with another resident of the Brill Avenue home sometime between 10 and 10:45 p.m. Monday night, authorities said. Once the fight ended, everone except Paulsen went back into the house, witnesses told investigators

Canfield, who was not involved in the altercation, went outside carrying a compound bow and a quiver of arrows, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. Canfield allegedly used the bow to shoot Paulsen in the stomach with an arrow.

Police found Paulsen lying in the back yard of the Brill Avenue home, mortally wounded. He was taken to Virtua Hospital in Berlin, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy Tuesday revealed the arrow perforated an iliac vein in Paulsen’s pelvis, according to the prosecutor's office.
