Police investigating Window Business for Possible Fraud
Firas Emachah, 40, of Shamong, is charged with four counts of Passing Bad Check and three counts of Theft by Deception in relation to his Berlin-based business.
Emachah owns Dream House Windows. The bad checks were written to employees and a supplier.
Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo, Berlin Township Police Chief Leonard Check, Cherry Hill Police Chief Bud Monahan, Lindenwold Police Chief Thomas Brennan and Waterford Police Chief Dan Cormaney are seeking the public’s assistance in an investigation into fraudulent business practices at Dream House Windows.

The offenses are alleged to have taken place since January 2014. The most recent was reported in May.
The Prosecutor’s Office has received several other allegations of fraud, including other claims of bad checks and reports that Emachah was paid thousands of dollars in deposits for work that wasn’t done. Those allegations have not led to additional charges at this time, but the Prosecutor’s Office and local police are conducting an investigation into the reports.

Dream House Windows, located at 141 Cooper Road in West Berlin, may also do business under the names Zaza Corp. or Affinity Windows. According to Emachah’s Linkedin page, he has owned the business since 2002.
The bad checks include paychecks totaling $31,000 and more than $32,000 owed to two separate suppliers. One theft charge alleges Emachah garnished wages from an employee who owed money to probation, but kept the money for himself, rather than passing it along to the appropriate government office. The two other theft charges, filed in Cherry Hill and Waterford, accuse Emachah of taking deposits worth thousands of dollars for home improvements which he never did.
