Gloucester City Man Accused of Murdering His Pregnant Mother

A Gloucester City man has been charged in the murder of his pregnant mother, Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Gloucester City Police Chief George Berglund announced Monday morning.

Leon Wilson, 21, is charged with murder in the stabbing death of his mother, 42-year-old Scarlett Wilson, on Sunday night.

The two lived at the same address on the 600 block of Jersey Avenue. Wilson allegedly stabbed his mother several times around 9:47 p.m. Sunday night at their home following an argument between the two.

Wilson was treated at Cooper Hospital in Camden but died of her injuries. Her child was delivered and is being treated at Cooper Hospital.

Wilson will be arraigned in Camden federal court Monday afternoon.
