Smashburger Opens in Cherry Hill on Dec. 11

Burger fans will have yet another option next week, when Smashburger throws open the doors on its new Cherry Hill location.

The fast casual chain is opening at 56 Haddonfield Road, just north of Church Road, on Dec. 11, and will be just the second Smashburger in South Jersey and first in Camden County—though that won’t last long.

“Over the last five years, we have seen an explosion in people’s interest to eat higher quality burgers than the typical fast food fare,” said said David Damato, vice president of operations, Cherry Hill Smashburger LLC, the owners of the Cherry Hill location. “We are looking forward to joining and serving members of the Cherry Hill community and beyond.”

The Haddonfield Road location will, like Smashburgers elsewhere, feature a regional menu, including the New Jersey Burger, which has applewood-smoked bacon, blue cheese, grilled onions, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on an onion bun.

Most locations in the area have around eight varieties of burgers—plus the option to make your own—as well as veggie burgers and chicken sandwiches, salads and more—including Haagen-Dazs shakes—on the menu.

The Cherry Hill location’s owners have plans to open another 15 locations in South Jersey and the southern portion of Philadelphia in the next four years, as well, with each location staffed by about 55 people.

The new burger joint will have plenty of competition in what has become something of a burger Mecca—it’ll be alongside Bobby’s Burger Palace and Red Robin, both at the Cherry Hill Mall, as well as Zinburger and Five Guys further down Haddonfield Road.
