Hurricane Sandy Closings and Cancellations

Tuesday closings and cancellations

Cherry Hill Township:

Trash, recycling and leaf pickup has been canceled for Tuesday.

The township municipal building is closed Tuesday, though the mayor's office will continue to operate.

Cherry Hill schools:

All of Cherry Hill's 19 public schools are closed Tuesday.

Bishop Eustace, Camden Catholic and King's Christian School are all closed Tuesday.

Camden County Technical Schools are closed Tuesday.

Cherry Hill Mall

The mall will reopen at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Camden County:

County offices, parks and the library system are all closed.

Colleges:

Camden County College is closed Tuesday.

Rowan University is closed Tuesday.

Rutgers-Camden is closed Tuesday.

Ben Franklin/Walt Whitman/Betsy Ross/Commodore Barry/Tacony-Palmyra/Burlington-Bristol bridges:

All bridges are closed as of Monday night. The Whitman, Ross, Barry and Ben Franklin will all reopen at 4 a.m. Tuesday.

PATCO

Trains will not run at least through the Tuesday morning commuting hours.

Monday closings

Cherry Hill Township:

Trash, recycling and leaf pickup has been canceled for Monday.

All Recreation Department activities scheduled at school facilities on Monday are canceled.

The township municipal building is closed Monday, though the mayor's office will continue to operate.

The Cherry Hill library is closed Monday.

Cherry Hill Schools:

Cherry Hill public schools are , and have announced they will close Tuesday.

All after-school activities are canceled Monday and Tuesday, and the East fall preview concert has been rescheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1.

The school board meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening has also been canceled.

Camden Catholic and Camden County Technical Schools are closed Monday as well. King's Christian School and Bishop Eustace are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Cherry Hill Mall

The mall and all stores are closed Monday, Oct. 29.

Camden County:

Camden County has declared a local emergency for Monday, and all non-essential offices will be closed. Traffic and personnel on county roads is restricted to essential services and travel deemed necessary.

Camden County parks will all shut down Sunday morning, following the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Cooper River.

The Camden County flu clinic scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 at the Katz Jewish Community center in Cherry Hill has been rescheduled. The new date is Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, same location: 1301 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill.

All Camden County parks and libraries in the county system are closed Monday and Tuesday.

PATCO:

PATCO rail service will be suspended early Monday morning. The last train to Lindenwold will leave the 15th/16th and Locust Station in Philadelphia at 2:50 a.m. The last train to Philadelphia will leave Lindenwold at 2:15 a.m.

The Ferry Avenue station parking lot, notorious for its tendency to flood, is closing down at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Ben Franklin/Walt Whitman/Betsy Ross/Commodore Barry bridges:

All DRPA bridges are open, though the Ben Franklin pedestrian walkways are closed Monday and Tuesday. Travel restrictions may be imposed on the bridges, depending on how strong winds get during the storm.

Colleges:

Camden County College is closed Monday. 

Rowan University is closed Monday and Tuesday. Students may remain on campus, but have to inform their resident advisers.

Rutgers-Camden is closed Monday

Statewide:

New Jersey state offices are closed Monday. All non-essential employees should stay home. Essential employees must report to work on time.

All state parks and historic sites will shut down at noon on Sunday. Current campers must leave by midday Sunday. Parks may be shut down the entire week, state officials say. Community events:

Cherry Hill School of Rock is closed Monday, Oct. 29.

A scheduled debate Monday between Rep. Rob Andrews (D) and challenger Greg Horton (R) at Rutgers-Camden has been canceled. Andrews, an 11-term incumbent and Horton, a school administrator, are running for the 1st Congressional District seat.

Packet pick-up for the annual Run the Bridge 10K for Wednesday, Oct. 31 has been canceled. Runners will be able to pick up race packets at the Haddonfield Running Company, Moorestown Running Company and the South Jersey Running and Triathlon Company of Mullica Hill on Thursday and Friday as scheduled.
