Township Officials Surprised by Restaurants' Closings

McCormick and Schmick's had even expressed interest in participating in a proposed restaurant week, the Courier Post reports.

The closure of two restaurants at the Marketplace in Cherry Hill came as a surprise to township officials, the Courier Post reports.

McCormick and Schmick's and William Douglas, which each opened in 2008, closed within the past week.

Officials invited each restaurant to participate in a proposed restaurant week last week, and McCormick and Schmick's showed interest, according to the Courier Post.

Then, both restaurants closed without warning.
