Cherry Hill Schools Cancel, Postpone Events in Sandy's Wake

Various events Thursday and Friday are affected, and others from earlier this week are rescheduled.

After three days without classes—and possibly at fourth at Cherry Hill West because of lingering power problems—the school district has announced a number of cancellations and postponements at some of the district's 19 schools:

Cherry Hill East: The fall preview concert, originally rescheduled for Thursday night, has been cancelled.

Cherry Hill West: The fall preview concert has been canceled Thursday. There have also been alterations to the Lions' sports schedule.

Knight: Knight’s fourth grade trip to Ellis Island, originally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 2, is canceled. Parents and students will be notified by the district when it's rescheduled.

Beck Middle: The Red Ribbon Week parade scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 31, has been rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 5. The full student government meeting scheduled for Thursday morning, Nov. 1 has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7:45 a.m. Beck's Drama meeting will be held after school on Thursday, Nov. 1, in the cafeteria.

Superintendent Maureen Reusche's scheduled Community Conversation at the Katz JCC on Thursday has been postponed. A makeup date will be announced later.

All Halloween activities at all schools have been pushed back to Monday, Nov. 5.
